چکیده

The Boltzmann-Gibbs statistical mechanics and the standard thermodynamics are very useful in the discussion of extensive systems. However, they are not good to study situations where nonextensive e ects occur, for instance, systems involving long-range interactions (e. g., d = 3 gravitation)[1, 2], long-range microscopic memory[3], and systems with a relevant (multi)fractal-like structure. On the other hand, the investigations based on the Tsallis entropy[4] mainly focuses on the study of nonextensive problems. Examples of these applications are the L evy superdi usion[5, 6] and anomalous correlated di usion[7], turbulence in a two-dimensional pure electron plasma[8], thermalization of an electron-phonon system[9], astrophysical applications[10], dynamical systems[11, 12], among others[13].

Nonextensive statistics in viscous fingering

Measurements in turbulent flows have revealed that the velocity field in nonequilibrium systems exhibits q-exponential or power law distributions in agreement with theoretical arguments based on nonextensive statistical mechanics. Here we consider Hele-Shaw flow as simulated by the Lattice Boltzmann method and find similar behavior from the analysis of velocity field measurements. For the trans...

Probabilistic properties of nonextensive thermodynamic

Based on the Tsallis entropy, the nonextensive thermodynamic properties are studied as a qdeformation of classical statistical results using only probabilistic methods and straightforward calculations. It is shown that the constant in the Tsallis entropy depends on the deformation parameter and must be redefined to recover the usual thermodynamic relations. The notions of variance and covarianc...

Force Fields in Nonextensive Kinetic Theory

We investigate the nonextensive q-distribution function for a gas in the presence of an external field of force possessing a potential U (r). In the case of a dilute gas, we show that the power law distribution including the potential energy factor term can rigorously be deduced based on kinetic theoretical arguments. This result is significant as a preliminary to the discussion of long range i...

Nonextensive Statistics: Theoretical, Experimental and Computational Evidences and Connections

The domain of validity of standard thermodynamics and Boltzmann-Gibbs statistical mechanics is discussed and then formally enlarged in order to hopefully cover a variety of anomalous systems. The generalization concerns nonextensive systems, where nonextensivity is understood in the thermody-namical sense. This generalization was first proposed in 1988 inspired by the probabilistic description ...

A nonextensive entropy approach to solar wind intermittency

The probability distributions (PDFs) of the differences of any physical variable in the intermittent, turbulent interplanetary medium are scale dependent. Strong non-Gaussianity of solar wind fluctuations applies for short time-lag spacecraft observations, corresponding to small-scale spatial separations, whereas for large scales the differences turn into a Gaussian normal distribution. These c...
